Overview
In order to combat and/or slow down the degradation of equipment or system functionality, it is essential to take action in the form of maintenance. This action primarily focuses on preserving and restoring the equipment or system’s condition, keeping it as close as possible to its initial state. To ascertain the likelihood of equipment or a system operating continuously and performing its functions under specific environmental conditions within a specified timeframe without experiencing damage, one must assess its performance, commonly known as reliability. Reliability, in this context, refers to the probability of the equipment functioning as intended for a specific duration and under specific environmental conditions. The exact transition from a ‘healthy’ state to a ‘faulty’ state remains uncertain. To ensure the effectiveness of production systems, it is imperative to have reliable personnel or to enhance the expertise of the Reliability Centered Maintenance profession.
Materi
- Fundamental RCM Concepts
Covering the objectives of RCM, the core principles, the steps involved in the RCM process, the key components of RCM, and the outcomes of RCM analysis.
- Understanding Reliability Functions
Exploring the Probability Density Function (PDF) and the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) in the context of reliability.
- Analyzing Failure Rates
Examining failure rates, hazard rates, different forms of failure functions, and additional equipment performance metrics such as Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Theoretical Reliability Distributions
Delving into various theoretical reliability distributions, including the Exponential Distribution, Normal Distribution, Hyperexponential Distribution, Gamma Distribution, and Weibull Distribution.
